Petron Stations Sweep DOTC-TRB Awards For Most Gender Responsive Facilities

Market leader Petron Corporation’s mega-stations bested 14 other gas stations and locators along the North and South Luzon Expressways, as they emerged as the top winners of the “2014 Most Gender-Responsive Tollway Service Facility” awarded by the Department of Transportation and Communication’s Toll Regulatory Board (DOTC-TRB).

Petron San Pedro (PEC-3) along the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) was named champion, while Petron Marilao (PEC-1) and Petron Bocaue (PEC-2) along the North Luzon Expressway were awarded first and second runners-up, respectively.

The annual recognition, falling under the TRB’s Gender and Development Program, is given to locators who, on top of offering clean facilities, best cater to the differentiated needs of women, men, children, and persons with disabilities (PWD).

In selecting its annual winners, the TRB conducts quarterly monitoring and face-to-face interviews with motorists to gather feedback, comments and suggestions. This is the second year that the TRB gave such recognition to establishments operating along expressways.

“This well-deserved recognition is a testament to our commitment to attend to the unique needs of motorists and their families and transform Petron stations into one-stop havens for our customers,” Petron General Manager Lubin B. Nepomuceno said.
