KTM is officially “Ready to Race” in the Philippines

Adventure Cycle Philippines, Inc. (ACPI – a member of the Ayala Group of Companies), now the official distributor of KTM motorcycles in the Philippines, housed under Ayala Automotive Holdings Corporation, held a media forum last May 16, 2016 at the Seda Hotel Bonifacio Global City. The team behind Ayala’s new venture was introduced to local motoring media.

During the event, Ayala Automotive President and CEO, JP Orbeta confirmed Ayala’s support and commitment to this endeavor. Mr. Orbeta commented, “Ayala Automotive is excited to expand its portfolio and enhance the group’s offerings to the market. We are excited by our entry into the motorcycle space and are in full support of this business. We remain committed as a group to providing the market the products and after-sales service it deserves.“

Adventure Cycle Philippines, Inc. aims to open dealerships with prospective partners nationwide. The company’s Chief Operating Officer Dino Santos said, “Our goal is to penetrate all major cities in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao with KTM dealerships. We will ensure that our customers will have access to the full range of KTM motorcycles. At the same time, we will make certain that motorcycle service and maintenance is available in all the KTM dealerships.“

Adventure Cycle Philippines, Inc will start local distribution of KTM in the Philppines in the third quarter of 2016. Ayala’s Local production of KTM has been subcontracted to Integrated Micro-Electronics, Inc. Production has been slated to begin in 2017. The KTM models that will initially be manufactured are the 200 Duke, 390 Duke, RC 200 and RC 390. Ever since word got out that KTM has an official presence and will be produced locally, pricing has been a much asked question. According to Dino Santos, They will strive to keep prices competitive with existing stocks locally available, but as soon as they are able to achieve economies of scale, this will definitely be felt in their pricing in the future.

KTM Southeast Asia representatives, Managing Director Julian Legazpi and Country Manager Zigmunds Steinbergs, were also present at the event. Mr. Legazpi commented that “We are excited to paint the Philippines orange with our esteemed partners – Ayala. Without a doubt, the country is now Ready To Race!“
